|EVENT DATES:||Four consecutive Mondays (excluding the Monday of the March Break - Monday March 16th)

|AGES:||9 - 13|
|REQUIREMENTS and PREREQUISTES:||• No previous knowledge of computer programming is required
• B.Y.O.D. (Bring your own device). Registrants must bring their own WiFi enabled laptop capable of connecting wirelessly to the Internet
• A SCRATCH account.
Note: Unless the registrant (Coder) already maintains an active SCRATCH account, the Instructor will establish the SCRATCH account on their behalf
|REGISTRANTS GET:||• Four - 2½ hour sessions with a Coding Instructor (4 consecutive Wednesday evenings)
• Introduction to the fundamentals & basics of computer programming with a focus on fun, animation, & games through the use of the SCRATCH programming language
• “Power of Coding” branded Water bottle (BPA free. Not safe for dishwasher or microwave)
• “Power of Coding” branded earbuds
• “Power of Coding” Certificate of Achievement
Registration / Enrollment Understanding
|RESTRICTIONS:||Due to facility capacity limitations, enrollment is limited to the first 15 paid registrants.|
|CODE OF CONDUCT:||The “Power of Coding” environment is one of learning and fun therefore the following behaviours
In the “Power of Coding” it is expected that students will:
• Be polite & treat each other with kindness
• Be respectful of each other, the equipment and the training facilities
• Be patient and wait their turn
• Have fun and very supportive of each other
• Share ideas, be cooperative & collaborative in the learning process
If a Coder fails to adhere to the “Power of Code” code of conduct the Coder's Parent or Guardian may be contacted to discuss continued participation.
|RECORDING:||For the purposes of continuous improvement & promotional materials, sessions attended by your Coder may be video recorded / photographed by the Instructor. All material presented in the “Power of Coding” is copyright protected & may not be recorded / copied by Students or visitors.|
|PRIVACY / IMAGE RIGHTS POLICY:||By completing & submitting this registration form, you, the parent or guardian acknowledges and provides consent to the “Power of Coding” to allow video & photographs to be taken during the sessions. This includes permitting “Power of Coding” to publish images or video snippets that may include their Coder on the “Power of Coding” websites & social media pages.|
|RESPONSIBILITIES:||The Instructor is responsible for delivering the “Power of Coding” training using proven curriculum, resources, materials & the SCRATCH programming language. The Coder is solely responsible for their attendance, their equipment, their login information (not including SCRATCH account credentials if established by the Instructor) & their preparedness to learn.|
Fees, Payment and Cancellation Information
|REGISTRATION FEES:||$180.00 per Coder ($45.00 per session per child) plus $23.40 HST for a total amount payable of $203.40 per Coder|
|PAYMENTS:||At this time, payment can be made by e-Transfer to PowerOfCoding@Harmony-IPS.com or by cheque made payable to “Harmony Information Processing Solutions Inc.|
|CANCELLATION POLICY:||Cancellations on behalf of the registrant must be provided to “Power of Coding” in writing
(text or e-mail) at least 1 week before the start of the first session to be refunded in full.
Cancellations received with less than 1 week notice will be subject to a charge of 25% of the
registration fees plus HST or $50.85 to cover administration fees & the loss of the ability to
re-sell the vacant seat.
If “Power of Coding” must cancel a session(s) due to inclement weather, facility issues or other unforeseen circumstances, the session(s) will either be rescheduled or refunded to the value of the session plus HST. If “Power of Coding” must cancel a session(s) cancellation notifications will be posted on the PowerOfCoding website and social media pages including FaceBook, Twitter and Instagram.
